I just saw the segment on CBS Evening News about the amount of homework the younger kids have. It sounds like it is pretty oppressive. What are there so many projects? Can't kids sit in a classroom and learn stuff from lecture and memorization? I majored in mathematics and I never thought memorizing addition and multiplication tables was fun - only necessary. Who needs school to be interesting, students or teachers?

Don't you think this political correctness has gone too far? Sears felt compelled to remove shirts with a statement like "You should hear the names the voices in my head are calling you!" because some mental health organization took offense. Now really!

There are areas where we get too rude, but that shirt is not singling anyone out for ridicule.

What operating system would you use internally? I'm definitely a proponent of Open Source - Linux in particular. The whole cost structure involved with upgrades just seems to make a whole lot of sense. And it works! The thing you have to watch for is that there are drivers for your hardware/software, most notably video cards in laptops. I'm really frustrated that I can get no help getting Xfree to run on my HP Pavilion N5425.

I guess honesty and concern for the long-term viability of a company are passe. All for the almighty dollar. Let's get back to responsible compansation packages and stiff penalties for illegal actions. And while we're at it, stiff fines for law firms that file frivolous suits.

Left Behind, the book and the series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins has been real inspirational. Whether or not you believe in the exact interpretation of the events in Revelation that is laid out in this series, you can still enjoy the novel. I like this to Star Trek shows - I don't think anyone can travel faster than the speed of light, but that still doesn't mean I can't enjoy the stories. Regardless, I realize there is a definite urgency for all of us today to become believer's in the saving power that only comes through faith in Christ Jesus.
